Take a look at our recap of the Drink Long Island Craft Beer Show! Although not open to the public, top Long Island retailers, bars, restaurants and local brewers gathered to showcase their specialty beverages, including wines ciders and unique craft brews.
How about a crisp pint of hard cider on a hot summer day? Brands such as Stella Artois Cidre, Mckenzie’s Hard Cider and Standard Cider Company have some of the best tasting ciders on the market!
Stella Artois, a Belgian tradition since 1366, has recently released Cidre. The crisp and refreshing European-style cider is made from fresh handpicked apples from North and South America. Naturally Gluten Free and only 170 calories, this drink is the perfect refreshment to kick back, relax and enjoy the summer!
Mckenzie’s Hard Cider has an award winning taste. Earlier this year their Black Cherry flavored cider won double gold at the 27th Annual Wine and Food Classic. It scored a 98 out of 100 on points based on blind tastings. 23 expert judges gave the high rank from 773 other entries. The Black Cherry was followed up by their Green Apple, which took home a silver medal. Mckenzie’s Hard Cider line up includes 2 other flavors as well, making this a must try cider.
Standard Cider Company based in Long Island, NY has recently introduced two sparkling ciders to the market. True Believer, is made from a blend of five different types of apples grown in NY and milled on Long Island. The cider is a softer drink with a fruity style. The combination of apples consists of Cameo, Golden Delicious, Jonagold, Fuiji and Granny Smith. True Companion is a dark amber version of True Believer. Combining the same five apples, True Companion adds orange zest, ginger and molasses.

Once you pick a photographer you will be given six poses to follow and 3 free style poses. After you finish your big shoot your photos will print out in minutes! This past week, Drink Long Island held their first craft beer show. The show was hosted at their Clare Rose headquarters in East Yapank, NY. Although the show was not open to the public, key retailors, accounts and local brewers were all invited. The show included craft beers, ciders and wines for sampling that are exclusively distributed by Clare Rose Inc
Samples on tap included brews from: Long Ireland Beer Company, Blue Point Brewery, Harpoon Brewery, Goose Island and many more. Ciders available for tasting included Stella Artois Cidre, McKenzie and Standard Cider Company. Also available was a selection of wines from Foghat Cellars and energy drinks from Rock Star and Roar. The craft beer show was a great opportunity for retailors, accounts and breweries to connect brews with names and faces!
Attendees were encouraged to enter a text-to-win raffle. The grad prize was a custom Drink Long Island Kegerator! Also up for grabs, a Pabst Blue Ribbon summer prize pack that included a golf bag and cooler, a Harpoon mirror, swag pack of apparel and a limited edition Goose Island 12 pack.
Between the live music, BBQ and over 40 selections of beer, cider, wine and energy drinks, a great time was had by all.

The event includes craft beer sampling from over 50 breweries from around the country and beyond. This line up will mix a perfect combination of reggae, ska, rock and jam music sure to get you dancing! In addition to music and beer, there will be plenty of food to enjoy! Beerfields will be held at the Pennysaver Amphitheatre, an outdoor concert venue, on June 29th . The beer sampling will be held from 2- 5pm and the concert portion of the event will be from 2-8pm. A Beer Fields ticket includes a 5oz tasting glass with a 2 oz pour line, beer samples, access to all vendors, and the music entertainment.

In addition to all the fun, The Patchogue Rotary Kris Kringle Fund will also be onsite to collect donations. Local Long Island restaurateurs Mark Miller, Brian Kearns, and Frank Mills, the owners of Harbor Crab, started this fund to bring joy to less fortunate families during the Christmas season. Beer Fields is proud to be a supporter of the Kris Kringle fund and is excited to be able to use Beer Fields as a vehicle to help raise funds for this great cause!
