Montauk Hot Spots

The Montauket

If your’e looking for one of the best places to watch the sunset, The Montauket is the place to be.  Enjoy a brew with a view! We suggest an ice cold Kona Longboard!  Live music makes its way to the outside patio and The Montauket has even had the pleasure of having Jimmy Fallon perform.

The Point Bar & Grill

If you’re looking to kick back and watch some sports, or even go out late night, The Point Bar & Grill is the destination!  Featuring many TV’s for watching multiple games, Tuesday Trivia, and an exciting nightlife.  We suggest having a cold Goose Island IPA on tap  to enhance your taste buds.  Pair with a delicious burger for a memorable meal.

The Memory Motel

Known for it’s night life and young millennia crowd, The Memory Motel is the place to end up in Montauk.  With local DJ’s, live bands, and party atmosphere, The Memory Motel has kept its original feel since opening.  We suggest drinking Bud Light to enjoy a beer with great drinkability while you dance the night away.

Liar’s Saloon

There’s nothing like sticking with an American classic.  Cold Budweiser flows on tap at the one and only Liar’s Saloon.  Known for the simple taps, locals, and fisherman.  Sit on the back deck to enjoy the view of the docks and inlet.

The Sloppy Tuna

The “go to” place in Montauk for the millennial crowd.  This two story bar/club has had guests such as Blake Griffin and Rob Gronkowski.  We suggest drinking some local Long Island craft beer such as Blue Point Brewing Company’s Toasted Lager.  Nothing like the taste of fresh local beer to compliment being in Montauk on a warm summer night.

O’Murphys Pub

Local Irish pub located by West Lake Drive in Montauk.  Come enjoy their new location with a cold Goose IPA.  One of the highest awarded IPA’s rated by the Great American Beer Festival!

Thank you Parrotheads

For may of us from the Drink Long Island team, it was our first experience at a Jimmy Buffett concert at Jones Beach Theater. As we ventured around the parking lot, taking pictures and handing out our Landshark giveaways, we were completely blown away by what we encountered. The party really is in the parking lot.

The arrival times are their badges worn with pride–6 a.m., 2 a.m., and even 10 p.m. the night before to name a few– and are complementary to the tailgate dedication. They explained to us the stories behind the decorations and the ingenious preparations made for their temporary havens. It was madness, these tailgates. These people painted a parking lot into a thriving community and it poured good times.

We were fortunate to have our work passes that let us explore all the theater, both before and during the performances. After finishing up in the parking lot, we spent some time inside, listening to Huey Lewis and the News get the crowd going.

We ended up scoring some seats right before Jimmy Buffett came on, but we also did take advantage of the ability to go backstage and even front row for a bit. Looking out from behind Jimmy, we saw just a wave of people, singing each word to “Margaritaville” and other favorites and dancing smoothly to a beach bum vibe. It was truly an amazing atmosphere to be a part of.

So cheers to you wonderful Parrotheads, for showing us such a good time. The kindness we experienced fully embraced Jimmy Buffett’s ideals and was a break from daily routine. Really though, you cannot help but smile when a man, dressed in a hula skirt and cocoanut shell bra, offers you some of his Landsharks and hotdogs hot off the grill. And this instances occurred at every stop we made. The generosity alone made our experience memorable, and for that we thank you. We look forward to partying with you all at next year’s show.
